You always have options.
This morning I went to Lenscrafter at Southland to have my glasses deep-cleaned and new nosepads. Long-story short - after an hour and a half, I finally got my glasses with the nose pads (a 30-second task) and NO deep-clean. I have only one pair of glasses - and can't see anthing without them - so that is a V E R Y long time for me. Came home tonight and ordered a Jewelry-Eyeglass Sonic Cleaner from Amazon. If I could EVER drop this weight - my reward to myself - is to go have laser eye surgery! Did a lot of running around today. Went to Niles and went to Castro Village. Mostly a very enjoyable day.
